ALBANY - A bowling alley tucked in a residential neighborhood off Madison Avenue could become a distribution center for commercial-grade bakery mixers.

Precision North America Inc., an importer and distributor at the Port of Albany, wants to buy the Playdium Bowling Center and attached commercial strip on Ontario Street, in the Pine Hills neighborhood. The company has an option on the building, which has been for sale for about four years.

But the Pine Hills Neighborhood Association has objected to the potential industrial use in the residential neigh borhood.

Precision needs a variance from the city Board of Zoning Appeals. The board …
