Fed: RAAF Hercules lands at Kandahar airport - ADF = 2
ADF Brigadier Gary Bornholt said the Hercules took in two US Humvee all-terrain vehiclesand some American personnel, but no Australians were on board.
"It is the first time an Australian aircraft has flown into and landed in Afghanistansince the operation began," Brigadier Bornholt told reporters at the ADF's weekly briefingon the war against terrorism.
FA-18 fighters and other RAAF planes were based on the Indian Ocean island of DiegoGarcia and were not operating over Afghanistan, he said.
